After making a huge impact last week by partnering with Starbucks, Square made another huge announcement — pricing per month. If you are a small business this is huge. For a flat rate of $275/month, there is no per swipe charge (up to $250,000/year). With their 2.75%/swipe normal rate, this makes sense for any small business who swipes more than $10,000/month. Square just put another nail in the coffin of all other payment processing companies for small business transactions.
