New York Times Campaign Stops on scientists in government:

There is certainly no requirement for a Singaporean science background, but scientifically literate government leaders who push for evidence-based policies and demonstrate a scientific outlook are needed more than glib panderers with attitude.

I agree 100%. More scientists in government positions would make our country a better place.
